ABOUT LAJEE CULTURAL CENTER, PALESTINE

Lajee has organised a diverse and educational programme which is representative of Palestinian culture and life, and an insight into the work and activities of Lajee Center.  Activities in Ireland will include the Liberty Hall concert, public performances, workshops with young people and media work.  The group will also meet and speak with Irish legislators in the Oireachtas.  During their visit to Scotland in 2013, Lajee performed outdoor in Dundee, which can be seen here.

More information on Lajee Cultural Center is available on their website at www.lajee.org.

An awarding winning film, Everyday Nakba produced and directed by Mohammad Alazza (Head of Media Unit, Lajee) can be seen here.  It is shot in Aida Camp and documents the effects of water shortages in the Camp.  Mohammad recently undertook a tour of the US with his film and photography work, including participation at the Boston Palestine Film Festival with his new film Just a Child about the effects of imprisonment on Palestinian children. His appearance comes six months after being shot in the face by Israeli soldiers as he photographed their invasion of Aida Camp.
